Mobile devices
A mobile is a computing device which has small visual screen and a small keyboard for user input and output, used to communicate electronically over long distances. Mobile devices are basically used to communicate and for transferring the data. Nowadays it facilitate so many functions like listening online songs, internet access, memo recording, personal organizers system, emailing services, camera facility. Electromagnetic waves plays significant part in communicating services. Games are also available to facilitate the customer. Ipods, nowadays are very popular, because they are providing more services . customers can now store data . They can save more pictures, more songs
,more text.

Uses
Mobile phone has become a part of life these days. Without this a person seems like an uncultured man. Service providers are going to discover new tools and software that provide more help to user. As BPO & CO. claims that ”The company's 3G network offers advanced wireless services, such as viewing video clips, and enhances existing wireless services by making them run faster. Customers can now download a game or ringtone, or access e-mail, in a fraction of the time it used to take. Additionally, Cingular customers using a 3G handset can access all the company's data services whenever they're connected to the Cingular network”. If we are going to use these kind of facilities, than that will be very beneficial to students of the CQU. They can view whole data stored on the University’s website. They can send any enquiry while they are performing any task. Mobiles are very useful tools in this modern & fast world. Implementing the new services
in the university will make it’s reputation high among the competitive service providers.

week 7

Q.1.What is the name of the innovation?

Time divisional multiple access technique. This new technology enables us to enhance the super fine facilities with the help of new equipments. It allows us to transfer a large bulk of data through proper control. Students would be able to access online facility on their mobile phones. Urgent information can be viewed while doing other job. University’s staff can give required assistance to solve problems very quickly. There will be a record of every student’s active mobile numbers. Checking process will be fast.
According to Nor A K Darus,Hussin,R.2006.P37” The 3G uses the wide band code division multiple access (WBCDMA)technique, which is basically a high speed 3G mobile wireless technology with the capacity to offer high data speed.”

Q.2. Describe the innovation and how it would work and the service it would provide to students?

New devices with the new tools like GPRS, WAP and 3G standard, are contributing a lot to solve the modern world’s problem .TDMA/GPS services are going to help in this field. TDMA is an intelligent data network system which permits continuous real-time messaging from a wide variety of applications. Every mobile company have their own tracs, so security is highly appreciable. With the help of this large amount of data can be transferred to mobiles. Students can receive urgent mail while they are traveling or at any time. This really saves the time. Students can memorize the large amount of text which is saved in their mobiles. During exam time it will be amazing.

Q.3. How did u identify this innovation?

I am able to recognize this after analyzing the advantages of the tools, which will help students to save their precious time. According to requirement of the modern society it is in demand to perform many jobs at the same time. And this technology will help to balance that problem. Today every person has mobile. So having more than one facility
in the same device ,would be really beneficial. We will be having services like messaging, listening songs, transferring full text. Online alert system will help not to delaying the schedule.

Q. 1.What services using mobile phones or other devices would CQU students like to see?
Using mobile services to access the educational information ,would be a very beneficial & Time consuming advantage. GPRS,WAP ,and 3G standard are the new tools in the world of technology. Through SMS services we can send the full text.using 3G we can get data and audio & video services. .Wireless technology permits us to Easy file exchange and synchronization with the desktop systems & Office networks. Facilities like calendars, schedules, appointments, telephone lists and other calculations ,all are available on hand set. Students would like to see all these facilities in their mobiles.

Q.2.What services would students find interesting and useful?
Students would like to access the internet facilities as provided by the WAP technology.we can get informed about about the study schedule on our mobiles .According to NOR,S A K.DARUS,S H. HUSSIN,R.2006.P37 “The 3G uses the wide band code division multiple access (WBCDMA)technique, which is basically a high speed 3G mobile wireless technology with the capacity to offer high data speed .“ so all the relevant information & material will be in their hands very fast. Modern technology is providing this all. .When we are in coffee shop or in car or sleeping,we will be in touch with the university’ staff. this will be very helpful for all the students. It will save our time. & will work as a reminder to us.

Q.3.What might be the costs and benefits of these innovations?
Cost will depend on the services which we are availing .it will depend on the number of students and courses you want to support, what types of devices you plan to use, and how much infrastructure (networking, facilities, and technical support) are already in place. If we take another example of mobile language learning facility set up by the University of Wisconsin L&S Learning Support Services and its mobile computing and IN TIME programs ., a simple cart of wireless iPaqs for 30 students, along with a wireless access point, could cost less than $15,000. A similar setup using Tablet PCs (nearly twice as expensive as laptop computers) could easily exceed $50,000. the benefits will be admirable. We will have a reputed standard on international platform. Students life & their learning standard will be very competitive to the world.

Q.4.What mobile devices do students own? Phones? MP3 players?
Students are having the i-pods, latest discovery in the techno-world. They want to have latest mobile in which TDMA /GPS services are in-built. That is very fast &helpful in availing the on line facilities . time divisional multiplexing technique which transmits the various data channel at the same time in a single frequency. Sending mails when you are in train or car ,this definitely saves your time. i-pod is one of the good example of wireless technology. We can save lots of data in it, like- songs, pictures, lecture slides etc . mp3 player is inbuilt in i-pode is very soothing technology we are having .blue tooth services are for transferring the data without the help of wires .so mobile technology is one of the fine discoveries we have..

Q.1.what is academic misconduct ?

Academic misconduct means the behaviour and efforts made by the student intentionally or unintentionally in university’s premises that cause interruption in the environment of the university. Misconduct can be of many types , like physical(behavioural), mechanical, plegiarism ,Cheating -on computer,in exams etc. Already invented thoughts by other brain's are used without acknowledging him. Misconduct is defined in section 4 of Central Queensland University's Statute No 4 (Student Discipline) 1999

Q.2 How is academic misconduct identified by CQU? That is how does the University find out whether or not a student has done something that might be academic misconduct ?

Academic misconduct is usually identified in one or two ways:
A direct report from a staff member.
A person appointed by the university,An assignment marker,or exam invigilator will find out the data of academic misconduct.if it is found that an assignment resembles with someone else or with other source. if there is no reference mentioned ,means a kind of plagiarism . then it would be considered as misconduct.
A report from a copy detection program.
This can be detected through different softwares installed by the university in their systems. There are the programs that will detect automatically if there is any similarity between two different assignments. if it is found then this information will go to the course coordinator. University is having the record system of all the students.so
their system can detect automatically

Q.3.Based on your experience, what could CQU do to reduce student academic misconduct?

There are so many ways to reduce the academic misconduct. Some universities
Uses the help of automatic content detection programs. Manual based method is also In access. Penalities should be given so that student would not try it in future. New softwares are coming in the market. Students sould be given more practical assistance.
