Q. 1.What services using mobile phones or other devices would CQU students like to see?
Using mobile services to access the educational information ,would be a very beneficial & Time consuming advantage. GPRS,WAP ,and 3G standard are the new tools in the world of technology. Through SMS services we can send the full text.using 3G we can get data and audio & video services. .Wireless technology permits us to Easy file exchange and synchronization with the desktop systems & Office networks. Facilities like calendars, schedules, appointments, telephone lists and other calculations ,all are available on hand set. Students would like to see all these facilities in their mobiles.

Q.2.What services would students find interesting and useful?
Students would like to access the internet facilities as provided by the WAP technology.we can get informed about about the study schedule on our mobiles .According to NOR,S A K.DARUS,S H. HUSSIN,R.2006.P37 “The 3G uses the wide band code division multiple access (WBCDMA)technique, which is basically a high speed 3G mobile wireless technology with the capacity to offer high data speed .“ so all the relevant information & material will be in their hands very fast. Modern technology is providing this all. .When we are in coffee shop or in car or sleeping,we will be in touch with the university’ staff. this will be very helpful for all the students. It will save our time. & will work as a reminder to us.

Q.3.What might be the costs and benefits of these innovations?
Cost will depend on the services which we are availing .it will depend on the number of students and courses you want to support, what types of devices you plan to use, and how much infrastructure (networking, facilities, and technical support) are already in place. If we take another example of mobile language learning facility set up by the University of Wisconsin L&S Learning Support Services and its mobile computing and IN TIME programs ., a simple cart of wireless iPaqs for 30 students, along with a wireless access point, could cost less than $15,000. A similar setup using Tablet PCs (nearly twice as expensive as laptop computers) could easily exceed $50,000. the benefits will be admirable. We will have a reputed standard on international platform. Students life & their learning standard will be very competitive to the world.

Q.4.What mobile devices do students own? Phones? MP3 players?
Students are having the i-pods, latest discovery in the techno-world. They want to have latest mobile in which TDMA /GPS services are in-built. That is very fast &helpful in availing the on line facilities . time divisional multiplexing technique which transmits the various data channel at the same time in a single frequency. Sending mails when you are in train or car ,this definitely saves your time. i-pod is one of the good example of wireless technology. We can save lots of data in it, like- songs, pictures, lecture slides etc . mp3 player is inbuilt in i-pode is very soothing technology we are having .blue tooth services are for transferring the data without the help of wires .so mobile technology is one of the fine discoveries we have..

Q.2 How is academic misconduct identified by CQU? That is how does the University find out whether or not a student has done something that might be academic misconduct ?

Academic misconduct is usually identified in one or two ways:
A direct report from a staff member.
A person appointed by the university,An assignment marker,or exam invigilator will find out the data of academic misconduct.if it is found that an assignment resembles with someone else or with other source. if there is no reference mentioned ,means a kind of plagiarism . then it would be considered as misconduct.
A report from a copy detection program.
This can be detected through different softwares installed by the university in their systems. There are the programs that will detect automatically if there is any similarity between two different assignments. if it is found then this information will go to the course coordinator. University is having the record system of all the students.so
their system can detect automatically

There are so many ways to reduce the academic misconduct. Some universities
Uses the help of automatic content detection programs. Manual based method is also In access. Penalities should be given so that student would not try it in future. New softwares are coming in the market. Students sould be given more practical assistance.
